THE HISTORY OF OUR CLUB
1976–1979
In 1976 a meeting was held at the Hackham Hall with the SFL to discuss forming a Football Club and its colours. The meeting was open to community. The club appointed Coaches with Seniors players, U13s and U15s combined with Aldinga.In 1977 the team trained at Hackham East Primary School with cars parked around the ground with there lights on. Lights were donated so training was made more possible. Plenty of players and home games played at Aldinga with a hose put through a window for a shower didn’t worry the team that was undefeated after eight games and finishing minor premiers only to be knocked out in the prelim final.
Then in 1978 the team trained a Christies Beach High School while the Hackham complex was being built with A grade playing in the Grand Final going down by a few points.
1980- 1989
In 1980 saw the first Premiership come to the club with the Div2Reserves Premiership and a flag in 1983 with Div 2 U14s. The 1986 SFL Centenary season Hackham had won Premierships with the Div1 U13s, 16s, & 18s.The 1987 season Hackham had won Premierships with the Div2 U16s and an undefeated flag in the U14s.
1990- 1999
Two Premierships won by Hackham in 1990 “A” Grade and Reserve teams. In 1991 Reserves back-to-back and undefeated, 1992 sub jnr colts 14s, 1995 U14 Div1 and in 1996 Div1 Reserves undefeated Premiers and a flag with the Div1 U16.
